I love taking photographs and telling stories. For reasons that often baffle me, people seem to enjoy both. My hope is to have fun with this blog. Expectations are that no one outside of family and a few friends will ever look twice at this site. Thus, I can just ramble on and keep posting photographs from the travels of life shared with my wife, Laura.

For 47 of my 65 years, I have been a professional photographer. For 27 years newspaper photojournalism was my calling with two stints at the Topeka Capital-Journal and four years at the Arizona Republic in Phoenix. Kansas Athletics at the University of Kansas has been my working home since 1997. My alma mater, Washburn University, and the College of Arts and Science named me their 2013 Alumni Fellow for my career achievements.

In this blog, I will happily share with you my fascinating life at KU in words and pictures as well as our travels and the stories that go along with them. My wife and I try to live an interesting and full life packed with love, passion and conviction. The hope is you’ll get a sense of that.

Hi, Jeff. I was looking through some old track scrapbooks and found a complimentary article that Dan Lauck wrote about me and Topeka West Track in 1971. I thought I’d try and find Dan and thank him but am unable to find him. I did find your article about his Parkinson’s. How sad. Could we chat in a more private way (i.e., email, Facebook, etc.). I could not find your email address. Thanks in advance.

Jeff – I was forwarded your blog about Coach Ritch Price by a friend of mine. My son is contemplating playing for Coach Price at Kansas and I am trying to learn more about him. It sounds like you have great respect for him, but I would appreciate the opportunity to learn more. Thanks for you repsonse and for the time you put into your blog. I have enjoyed the entries I have read. Best regards.
