The Pumpkin Patch Kid

In what we hope has become a long running October tradition, Jake again enjoyed Gary’s Pumpkin Patch last Saturday. The popular fall festival east of Topeka entertained our grandson with a variety of animals, farm machinery, slides, jumping air pillows and what proved to be his favorite attraction – the corn pit.

Our thanks go out to Emily Starr for her hospitality. Laura worked with the former rower throughout her career at KU.  Her family owns the Pumpkin Patch in Grantville. She enjoyed playing with Jake as much as Jake enjoyed her special treatment.

Soon Starr will be off to St. Louis for a new career, but I suspect she will always make her way back home at some point in October. We wish her well, and Jake hopes to see his friend again next fall.
