Relays Review

I have covered 36 Kansas Relays for the Topeka paper and for Kansas Athletics. Track and field is a true love. You can see full galleries from the Relays at kuathletics.com.  Here are a few of my favorite images from the 2011 Kansas Relays.

Readying for a race

Diamond Dixon at the point of a dynamic KU sweep of the 400 meter dash.

A throw back to the late 60's and early 70's - Nebraska's Chantae McMillan's Afro.

KU's winning shot putter Mason Finley struck an ancient Grecian pose just before release.

A soaked shoe emerged from the water jump during the women's steeplechase.

Peter van der Westhuizen led eventual winner Will Leer during the Glen Cunningham Mile.

Runners stretch out weary legs as the Kansas Relays concluded.
