Sorry, we don’t have any photos from our day in Boulder, one of our favorite cities. We were too busy melting our credit cards. Some of Laura’s and my favorite clothing stores, outdoor stores everywhere, bike shops galore and lots of healthy fine dining. Whew! We certainly did our part to stimulate the economy.
We’ll just skip on down to Colorado Springs where we arrived on Sunday, June 28 for the start of the weeklong Sports Photography Workshop. We arrived to a downtown completely closed off for the annual bikers rally, and we are not talking bicycles.
Since our room wasn’t ready, we headed straight for the action. Talk about freaks. I mean us. In our usual shorts and flip-flops, we were the ones that stood out amidst the leather clad, tattooed, dew-ragged bikers and the two women strolling the main drag in next to nothing. Baum, Chicka, Baum, Baum!
We had a great time talking with the area Bikers For Christ known as the Black Sheep and taking in the entire scene. However, the announcer at the band stage kept saying how proud he was that no violence had broken out “yet.” With the sun setting, we decided it was time to head back to the hotel even though Laura had yet to find the right set of chaps. Nuts.
